Plugin Auto Upgrade rocks!

Dude, this new auto upgrading for WP plugins totally rocks. I love it. I just upgraded all the plugins for my 3 main blogs right now. It was painless. One plugin didn’t upgrade correctly, so I tried it again. Presto.

The WP developers really are top not developers. WP has become one of the best applications I use.

New media features test.

I just found the built in cool media features. It seems that there’s a really cool, AJAXy, way to include media into posts, on the new WP 2.5.

Here’s my test.

Indiana Jones Theme

Not sure how I like it though. No cool built in FLV converter/player. Hmm, I guess it’s OK.

Looks like WP2.5 is a good thing

It seems that everyone is updated and loving it. So, I guess I’ll get started too.

Tonight I’ll take some time to back up my blogs and save the current themes. Then I’ll start the updates.

Video test

So, this one is a test of the claim that WP 2.5’s new WYSIWYG editor won’t mess up code I enter, as copied from sites like Flickr and Vimeo.

We’ll see. Below is a direct copy of my recent Vimeo video…

Short request from Trevor Carpenter on Vimeo.

***Edit***

So, not only does it allow me to enter the content, but now I can click back over to the “Visual” tab, for more editing. The video isn’t messed up, and a correctly sized box is showing me where the video will sit. I was even able to easily center justify it. Nice.

Now, as you are reading, I’m able to go back and edit the post, without the video’s code being chewed up by Wordpress. So sweet.

So, I’ve upgraded to WP 2.5!

Wow, the dashboard is VERY different. It looks much simpler. I think that new, non-developer, users with really like how much it looks easier to use.

Only time will tell if I like it more or less. What do you think?

What’s the point?

This blog has been temporarily launched to test out plugins and updates.

With the upcoming launch of Wordpress 2.5, I’ve been wondering how the upgrade will go. Rather than upgrade my main blogs, and risk screwing something up, I’ll be doing it here. Not sure yet if I’ll install the beta of 2.5, I haven’t decided about that yet.

I also have plugins that I want to try on occaision. This is the best way to install and play around with them. I’ll probably allow others to have access too.

Enjoy!
